A snapshot of guest ratings and stories behind the stay.
“Great host and atmosphere! A definite stop for refreshments for a weary Camino Pilgrim.”
“Stopped by for food and drink. Our host was spectacular. Great location with views and ambiance. Be sure to try his mothers homemade chocolate cake, the best in the world! Still trying to figure it out ;)”
“A bit of a walk from the main part of Vilanova, but on a quiet section of beach that makes up for it. Would stay here again if on the Camino, but I would not eat at the restaurant again. The food is uninspiring for how expensive it is.”
“We stopped in for a drink in the afternoon and came back for dinner. Great location, great service, generous portions and good food, great wine!”
“Had a very nice, small dinner here on Camino Espiritual night in Vilanova de Arousa. Very good fried fish dishes ‚juceles’ and ‚azadias’. Very nice staff but not easy to communicate in English.”
“If I could give a 10 star review, I would! I felt welcomed like family. So much so, I decided to give my Camino feet a rest for an extra night. I’m so glad I did be not only is the room comfy and spotlessly clean, it felt like home. And after 4 weeks traveling I needed that. The food is amazing, all cooked by the mother. The son, Jorge, was there very night to speak English to me and make me feel like a special guest. The view from my room and the beach across the street are the icing on the cake. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I hope to return again someday!”
“On the Camino and on the beach. Two important criteria. The operator and staff were extremely helpful in helping me reserve space on a boat tomorrow. My room is perfect for me though I can't give it five stars as the bathroom is the oddest looking add-on I think I have ever seen. It's very functional, but is misplaced, at least to me.”
“(Bear in mind the is a review from a pilgrim! - from late Sep-24) Many times whilst walking the Camino it is less about the quality of the place but the kind and warm reception you receive when you arrive. At Luz De Luna you are fortunate to have the best of both worlds. Such a lovely and hardworking family business. The mother seemed very tired and yet still had time for us and a wonderful warm kindness and patience about her, that showed through her smile. The dinner was fine for us with some chips and a nice salad to accompany our scallops and prawns. The rooms are a decent size with comfy beds and duvets compared to some of the other lower end hotels we stayed in on route. They were also clean and the shower was hot. I imagine it's even nicer in peak summer, being right on the beach!”
